Headed on a cruise and wanting to start your vacation ahead of time? Here are 4 hotels that provide that little touch of luxury you crave.
What do I look for in a luxury hotel?
Ask anyone who knows me and they’ll tell you I’m a 4 or 5 star travel-kind-of-girl. I like to be pampered. I like the spa treatments and little special touches when I arrive – like being offered champagne, getting that resort tour, having chocolates or other desserts left in my room…they are all important to me and are part of the whole ‘experience’ of being on vacation. I want a bed I can relax in, a balcony I can sip my coffee on and I want to relax while doing so. You know that feeling when you take in a deep breath and let it out slowly…that feeling of now I can relax? That’s what I look for when I book a hotel…and these four hotels below provide that type of feeling for me.
San Luis Resort
With ocean front views, a world class spa and luxurious villas to relax in, San Luis Resort is definitely worth a look. I like their rooms with beachfront balconies and their Club Ten level (adult only beachfront) definitely fits into the luxury feel of this resort: welcome champagne, personal escort to room upon check-in, VIP status…
Known as “Queen of the Gulf” from the 2014 TripAdvisor Certification of Excellence Award, they are located steps from the beach in the historic area of Galveston, they have a saline pool with a swim up bar and a well known spa you will want to experience.
Located in downtown Galveston and only a few minutes from the water, you’ll experience a European oasis within Texas.
Kemah Boardwalk Inn
One look at their website and you get a sense of energy and fun – a great start to that cruise you’re about to take. Their website even states: “this boutique, waterfront hotel offers you the feeling of an elegant seaside getaway while keeping you right in the middle of all the fun.” This would be great if you are traveling with family and one I plan on looking into for our next family cruise.
